The ladies love their treat dispenser and the rainbow chard I put in it!

Henhouse and Nestboxes!

The coop is finally finished, There is one small decorative piece left to complete, but it’s done! The project we thought we’d be able to complete in a bit more than a week took us 6 weeks. But it is certainly one of the nicest coops I have seen built from scratch! 🙂

Hen House

We spent the weekend working on the hen house. Once again we thought we would be finished by Sunday, but nope. Saturday morning it rained heavily, so we lost half a day there.

We are nearly done, though. All the hen house pieces have been cut  and stained. They just need to be installed.

While I waited for the stain to dry I planted some herbs for the chickens in planters.

The ladies were super excited by the greenery. I know they LOVE cilantro, so I look forward to give them some of these herbs to chew on. I planted spearmint to help keep rodents away; oregano for it’s antibiotic benefits; rosemary for their nesting boxes; and thyme for its immune boosting properties.
